King Salman Global Academy Introduces New Arabic Language Teaching Enhancement Courses

The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) is set to enhance the capabilities of teachers of Arabic as a Second Language (ASL) through its newly launched Productive Skills Evaluation Courses. These courses, focusing on speaking and writing evaluations, are designed to expand the global influence of the Arabic language by improving educational quality. This initiative is part of a broader effort by KSGAAL to introduce new training programmes aimed at elevating the teaching and assessment standards in the ASL community.

Participants in these courses will be introduced to advanced scientific assessment methods that align with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The CEFR's standardized approach to language learning and assessment promises a more structured and effective learning journey for ASL students. By integrating these methodologies, teachers can expect to deliver a more impactful educational experience, contributing significantly to the spread and appreciation of the Arabic language worldwide.

New Arabic Teaching Courses Launched

The programme is not limited to ASL educators alone but is also open to individuals involved in evaluating productive skills in any second or foreign language setting. This includes faculty members, administrative staff, and practitioners with a minimum of three years of experience in relevant fields. The initiative extends beyond Saudi Arabia, welcoming international participation to foster a global community of skilled language educators.

Course Structure and Schedule

The KSGAAL has planned six training courses across the first and second quarters of 2024. To accommodate participants from various locations, some courses will be held in-person at the KSGAAL headquarters in Riyadh, while others will be available virtually. Each course consists of twelve hours of training spread over four days, covering topics essential for professional development in language assessment. The inaugural course is scheduled from 18th to 21st February at the KSGAAL's Riyadh headquarters, with subsequent courses running from March to May 2024.

This strategic move by the KSGAAL underscores its commitment to promoting the Arabic language on a global scale through quality education and assessment. By equipping educators with the necessary tools and knowledge, the academy aims to ensure that learners of Arabic as a Second Language receive an education that is both effective and enriching.
