King Salman Academy For Arabic Language And Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Sign MoU To Enhance Cooperation

The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KAZNU) in Almaty, Kazakhstan. This agreement focuses on promoting the Arabic language, preserving its integrity, and supporting its use in various fields. It aligns with the Human Capability Development Program, part of Saudi Vision 2030.

The MoU was signed following the Saudi cabinet's approval on July 23. The cabinet authorised Minister of Culture and KSGAAL chairman Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, or his deputy, to negotiate and sign the agreement with the Kazakh side. This initiative aims to foster cooperation between KSGAAL and KAZNU in advancing the Arabic language.

MoU Signed Between King Salman Academy and KAZNU

The MoU outlines several collaborative areas, including implementing the Arabic Language Proficiency Test (ALPT) for non-native speakers. It also involves developing educational materials and modern curricula related to Arabic language teaching. These efforts aim to enhance language education and support learners worldwide.

Additionally, the agreement covers computational linguistics of the Arabic language. This includes developing digital dictionaries and creating Arabic-Kazakh linguistic corpora. Such initiatives are intended to facilitate better understanding and usage of the language through advanced technological tools.

During their visit to Kazakhstan, the KSGAAL delegation explored various universities, centres, and institutions. They assessed the status of the Arabic language and identified potential collaboration opportunities in teaching and promoting it. This visit was crucial in establishing connections for future partnerships.

KSGAAL is recognised globally as a reference point for advancing the Arabic language. It leverages its institutional expertise in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. The academy aims to expand its reach by collaborating with international institutions like KAZNU.

Strategic Goals and Research Initiatives

The MoU also includes conducting specialised studies and research in Arabic language teaching and learning. These initiatives aim to contribute valuable insights into effective teaching methods and strategies for non-native speakers. Such research is vital for improving educational practices globally.

Furthermore, sharing language services and consultations in areas of mutual interest is part of this agreement. Both institutions aim to benefit from each other's expertise, enhancing their capabilities in promoting the Arabic language effectively.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards achieving KSGAAL's strategic goals. By partnering with KAZNU, they aim to strengthen their efforts in promoting the Arabic language internationally while supporting Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.
