King Faisal Road In Rafha: Celebrating Over Seventy Years Of Historical Significance And Urban Renewal

Known locally as "Old Rafha Market Street," it has been a part of the community for over seventy years. This street was established alongside the Tapline, which transported crude oil from the Eastern Region to Europe via the Mediterranean Sea.

Rafha Municipality has undertaken a comprehensive development project to preserve this heritage site. The initiative aims to rehabilitate King Faisal Road as part of urban humanization efforts to improve quality of life. The project included resurfacing 1,270 meters of road with a width of 21 meters.

Enhancements also involved improving sidewalks and the central median, adding greenery, and installing modern lighting. Shopfronts were unified in a heritage style colour scheme, while informational signage was redesigned to match the area's visual identity.

This development supports Rafha Municipality's broader goal of enhancing architectural and heritage dimensions within the governorate. By transforming historical sites into vibrant urban destinations, they aim to boost tourism and reinforce Rafha's cultural presence.
