The CAP accreditation was described as one of the most rigorous programmes for medical laboratories worldwide. The process was based on thousands of detailed criteria that measured procedural quality, sample handling and safety, accuracy of test outcomes, and staff competence. Laboratories were accredited only when they demonstrated high levels of consistency and reliability across these measures.
The Makkah Health Cluster stated that this result reflected the strong readiness of the medical laboratory system at King Faisal Hospital. The cluster pointed to strict commitment to quality and safety rules, accurate operating procedures, and reliable diagnostic results, which supported informed clinical decisions and better healthcare outcomes for patients using the hospital’s services.
The cluster added that this level of compliance ranked among the highest globally and was the top recorded rate in the Middle East for 2025. According to the cluster, the distinction followed continued investment in laboratory infrastructure, ongoing training for medical and technical teams, and the use of internationally recognised testing and analytical practices.
The Makkah Health Cluster explained that these efforts improved performance efficiency, confidence in laboratory findings, and diagnostic accuracy. The cluster noted that the achievement aligned with goals of the Health Sector Transformation Program and supported Saudi Vision 2030 objectives for healthcare development within the Kingdom and the wider region.
