King Abdulaziz Quran Contest: Families Celebrate Saudi Arabia’s Dedication To The Holy Quran

The King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting, and Interpreting the Holy Quran is currently underway at the Grand Mosque. Participants' families and companions have praised Saudi Arabia's dedication to honouring the Quran. They expressed gratitude for the event, highlighting its religious significance and the Saudi leadership's support for Quranic activities.

The competition, organised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, has attracted 197 contestants from 128 countries. The total prize pool amounts to SAR4 million. This event is seen as a prestigious opportunity for Muslims worldwide to showcase their Quranic knowledge and skills.

Families Praise Saudi Arabia’s Quran Contest Efforts

Tayyib Hoki from Japan described the competition as a dream come true for Muslims. "In Japan, we are honoured to take part in this competition every year," he said. He emphasised the Saudi leadership’s exceptional care for the Quran and noted that Japanese participants undergo intensive preparation before attending.

Muaz bin Bouchrif from Belgium echoed similar sentiments. He highlighted that participation recognises those who memorise the Quran, offering them a chance to visit holy sites like the Grand Mosque and Prophet’s Mosque. Bouchrif praised the ministry's efforts in ensuring a well-organised experience for all attendees.

Osman Hussein from Somalia spoke about the historic and spiritual importance of this event. He mentioned how it inspires Muslim youth globally to memorise the Quran. Hussein commended Saudi Arabia's continuous organisation of such competitions on an international scale.

Shamim Ismail from Zimbabwe expressed pride in her son's participation in one of the most prestigious Quranic competitions worldwide. She thanked Saudi leadership for their dedication to the Quran and appreciated the ministry's excellent organisation of the event.

Experiences of Participants' Families

Mahmouda Ismail, also from Zimbabwe, praised the spiritually uplifting atmosphere provided for participants and their families. She lauded "the hospitality and good organisation that we experienced," reflecting Saudi Arabia's care for the Noble Quran.

Saleha Patel from Sierra Leone described her son's participation as a dream fulfilled. She commended the event’s rich spiritual and educational programming, noting that being part of their country’s delegation was an exceptional experience.

This competition not only honours those who memorise and recite the Quran but also strengthens ties among Muslims worldwide through shared religious experiences at sacred sites.
