Eighteen Global Contestants Showcase Their Talents On Day Three Of King Abdulaziz Quran Competition

The King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting, and Interpreting the Holy Quran is currently underway at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. Organised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, this global event has seen 49 participants recite before the judging panel so far. Contestants from various countries have showcased their skills in a deeply spiritual atmosphere.

Participants from nations such as Guinea-Bissau, Albania, Mauritania, Iran, Syria, Portugal, Eswatini, Fiji, the United Kingdom, Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Indonesia, Algeria, Iraq, Libya, The Gambia, Réunion, and Somalia have taken part. The competition's current session includes 179 contestants from 128 countries worldwide. They are competing across five categories for a total prize pool of SAR4 million.

Day Three Highlights of King Abdulaziz Quran Competition

The competition resumed on Tuesday with more elite participants joining the final rounds that began on Saturday. This event underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting Quranic programs globally. It also promotes values of moderation and tolerance while strengthening Muslims' connection to the Holy Quran through prestigious international competitions held in sacred locations.

The sessions have been divided into morning and evening slots with nine contestants each. This format allows for a comprehensive evaluation of participants' recitations. The event has attracted significant public engagement due to its spiritual significance and the diverse representation of countries involved.

Saudi Arabia plays a leading role in promoting Quranic activities worldwide. By organising such events at holy sites like Makkah's Grand Mosque, it reinforces its dedication to serving the Holy Quran and its reciters.
