King Abdulaziz International Quran Competition Enhances Global Communication And Promotes The Holy Quran

The King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Holy Quran Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation is a significant event organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance. This competition highlights the leadership's commitment to honouring the Holy Quran and its followers. Over the years, it has grown in technology, participation, and prize value, reflecting its importance on a global scale.

In 2019, an electronic judging system was introduced, marking a pivotal change in how the competition is conducted. This system has been refined to enhance accuracy and speed in score calculation. It connects results to an electronic board and formulates comprehensive questions to ensure fair evaluation. This technological advancement underscores a forward-thinking approach to maintaining integrity and transparency.

King Abdulaziz Quran Competition Promotes Unity

The competition has seen substantial growth over the past seven years. In its 40th session in 1440 AH, 109 participants from 73 countries competed for prizes totaling SAR1.145 million. By the 41st session in 1441 AH, this number increased to 147 contestants from 103 countries, with prizes amounting to SAR1.185 million.

Participation continued to rise in subsequent sessions. The 42nd session in 1444 AH featured 153 contestants from 111 countries, with prizes reaching SAR2.7 million. The following year, the 43rd session saw 166 participants from 117 countries competing for SAR4 million in prizes.

Comprehensive questions are created to guarantee fairness and transparency throughout the evaluation process.

This year marks the competition's 45th session with a record number of participants: 179 contestants from 128 countries. The prize value remains at SAR4 million, including a notable first-place award of SAR500,000. Such generous prizes reflect strong support from leadership and contribute to the competition's growing global presence.
