King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) has been recognised as one of the most advanced airports in air connectivity in the Middle East by the Airports Council International (ACI). During ACI's annual General Assembly Conference and Exhibition in Riyadh, KAIA secured third place as the best airport in air connectivity in the Middle East for 2023.
These accolades reflect the ongoing efforts of the Jeddah Airports Company, which manages and operates KAIA. The company has been utilising the latest technology, enhancing infrastructure, improving service quality, and expanding its network of local and international destinations to over 125. This initiative aligns with the national strategic objectives of civil aviation under Saudi Vision 2030.

The Jeddah Airports Company aims to position KAIA as a global hub airport, offering a unique travel experience for all passengers, including tourists and visitors to the Grand Mosque of Makkah. Looking ahead, KAIA plans to increase its number of destinations to 135 by the end of 2024, marking a growth of 6% compared to 2023. This expansion is part of a broader strategy to enhance air connectivity and support the Kingdom's economic and tourism goals.
Eng. Mazen Johar, CEO of Jeddah Airports Company, announced plans to upgrade service levels to meet the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy. This strategy aims to boost operational efficiency and increase KAIA's capacity to accommodate 114 million passengers by 2030.
The recognition from ACI underscores KAIA's commitment to advancing air connectivity and providing top-tier services. As part of its future plans, the airport will continue to focus on infrastructure development and service enhancements to maintain its competitive edge in the region.
