Kidana Development Company Completes First Phase Of Double-Story Tent Project To Expand Hajj Accommodation Capacity
Kidana Development Company, acting as the operational arm for the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, has completed the initial phase of its innovative double-story tent project in Mina. This phase accounts for about 75% of the entire project, which is being executed in collaboration with private sector partners. The initiative aims to enhance the pilgrim experience by increasing capacity and improving accommodation quality.
The first phase spans over 20,000 square meters and includes more than 40 buildings equipped with over 550 restrooms. Developed with a national company, construction was finished in around 100 days using techniques that sped up implementation. These methods provided durable and adaptable solutions to withstand varying weather conditions.

The double-story tent project is designed to significantly improve accommodation services at the holy sites. It aims to enrich the pilgrim experience by offering a safe and organised living environment that caters to diverse needs. This setting will facilitate performing rituals comfortably and peacefully, enhancing overall satisfaction among pilgrims.
For the Hajj season 1446 AH, approximately 8,000 pilgrims from various domestic and international Hajj packages are expected to use this site. This limited deployment will serve as a crucial test of the project's effectiveness in meeting diverse pilgrim needs. It may also lead to further expansion across other holy sites.
The full completion of this project is anticipated by next year's Hajj season, with an expected capacity to accommodate up to 20,000 pilgrims. The initiative not only aims to improve accommodation quality but also promotes sustainable and efficient land use within the holy sites.
This development plan is part of a broader strategy aimed at providing a comfortable and secure residential environment for pilgrims. It supports their well-being while ensuring they can perform rituals with ease and peace, ultimately contributing to greater satisfaction among them.
