Khazna Unveils MENA Region’s First AI-Optimised Data Centre In Ajman To Boost Digital Economy
Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, attended the unveiling of the UAE's first AI-optimised data centre. This facility, the largest in its category within the nation, is set to advance the UAE's leadership in artificial intelligence. Khazna Data Centres (Khazna) announced this development at GITEX Global in Dubai.
The new data centre, located in Ajman, is a 100MW facility optimised for AI. It stands as a pioneering project in the region, reinforcing Khazna's role as a leader in AI innovation and supporting the digital economy's growth during the AI era. The centre represents a significant investment worth billions of dirhams.

Khazna’s AI data centre is expected to be operational by Q3 2025. This initiative will positively influence the local economy by creating jobs in AI and establishing the UAE as a hub for business and innovation. Hassan Alnaqbi, CEO of Khazna, announced this alongside Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and Yousif Al Ali, CEO of EtihadWE.
"The launch of our 100MW AI-optimised data centre is a testament to Khazna’s strong growth and reflects the UAE’s readiness to lead in AI innovation," stated Alnaqbi. The facility spans 100k square metres with 20 data halls, each offering a 5MW capacity. Construction has commenced with completion expected within 15 months.
The Ajman data centre will be powered by Etihad Water and Electricity Company. Khazna emphasises energy efficiency through its modular design approach, ensuring optimal resource use. The tier 3 data centre marks a significant step towards meeting increasing power demands driven by AI advancements.
Alnaqbi highlighted that "Our new data centre in Ajman has been specifically designed for the high computing power and scalability requirements of AI." Advanced cooling techniques are integrated to enhance energy efficiency and scalability within this facility.
This strategic development underscores Khazna's commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology while supporting economic growth through job creation and attracting investments. As the UAE continues to embrace AI innovations, such initiatives position it as a leader in technological advancements globally.
