Khalifa University Unveils Over 100 Projects On Research & Innovation Day 2024
During the Khalifa University Research and Innovation Day 2024, H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khalifa University of Science and Technology, took a closer look at over 100 innovative projects. This event, a highlight of the UAE’s innovation month, saw the presence of notable figures including Professor Sir John O’ Reilly, President, Dr. Arif Sultan Al Hammadi, Executive Vice-President, and Dr. Ebrahim Al Hajri, Senior Vice-President, Support Services. The day was marked by an exploration of 60 innovative projects and 36 PhD research posters, alongside pitches from 10 technology startups.
Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, UAE Minister of Education, also attended the event, showcasing the government's support for innovation and research. The day featured two keynote addresses focusing on 'intelligent systems' and 'energy transition', delivered by Dr. Saleh Al Hashmi and Dr. Ray O. Johnson respectively. These talks were part of a broader panel discussion on 'Transition for Sustainability', moderated by Professor Sir John O’ Reilly.

The event facilitated interactions between Khalifa University researchers and stakeholders from various sectors including government, private sector, academia, industry, and international partners. The five themed display and demonstration zones highlighted projects in key areas such as 'Managed Energy Transition', 'Sustainable and Secure Society', 'Health Longevity', 'Advanced Materials and Manufacturing', and 'Pervasive Digitalization'.
The participation of esteemed guests and the range of projects showcased underscore the UAE's commitment to fostering innovation across multiple sectors. Khalifa University Research and Innovation Day 2024 not only provided a platform for presenting groundbreaking research but also facilitated discussions on sustainability and technological advancements.
