Khalifa University And Lockheed Martin Sign MoU To Enhance Aerospace And Defence Technologies In The UAE

Khalifa University of Science and Technology has teamed up with Lockheed Martin to enhance aerospace and defense technologies in the UAE. They have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand their collaboration. This agreement aims to boost human capital development in the region. The MoU was signed by Prof. Ebrahim Al Hajri from Khalifa University and Frank St. John from Lockheed Martin in Abu Dhabi, with senior officials attending.

Lockheed Martin plans to extend its Center for Innovation and Security Solutions (CISS) to Khalifa University's Main Campus. This move will foster long-term innovation, training, and technological leadership, strengthening the UAE's global position in aerospace and defense capabilities. Prof. Ebrahim Al Hajri stated that this agreement reflects Khalifa University's commitment to developing national skills and supporting innovation in these fields.

He mentioned that this strategic cooperation with Lockheed Martin began years ago, culminating in selecting Khalifa University as a partner for the expanded research centre. Frank St. John emphasized the importance of this collaboration in advancing aerospace and defense technologies within the UAE. He noted that working closely together would empower local talent and drive innovation, contributing to regional security and prosperity through economic growth. Established in 2014 at Masdar City, CISS will continue focusing on pioneering research, system development, and innovation in artificial intelligence, advanced simulation technologies, autonomous systems, and data analytics. It will serve as a collaborative hub for real-world projects that accelerate talent development and critical technologies, aligning with the UAE's strategic goals in defense, aerospace, and security.
