Khalifa Foundation Teams Up With Ma'an For 'Together For Education' Campaign
The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, in collaboration with the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, has launched the 'Together for Education' campaign. This initiative aims to support low-income families in Abu Dhabi by covering overdue school fees. Running from 16 September to 15 October 2024, the campaign seeks to raise AED 100 million from individuals and corporations.
The funds will assist 6,000 students and cover operational costs for eligible schools in the UAE. Additionally, it will provide necessary school supplies and help with fees, ensuring students can continue their education. The campaign underscores Abu Dhabi's commitment to humanitarian efforts and highlights the values of giving and sharing within Emirati society.
Mohamed Haji Al-Khoury, Director General of the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, stated that the campaign aligns with the Foundation's mission. He said it reinforces social solidarity in the UAE community and adopts innovative initiatives in collaboration with national entities. "The launch of this campaign jointly by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation and the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma'an to support thousands of low-income students in the UAE is an outstanding milestone added to the nation's track record of giving and philanthropy," he said.
Eng. Abdullah Al Ameri, Director General of Ma’an, highlighted that 'Together for Education' facilitates organised contribution efforts. He noted that it allows everyone to contribute sustainably through an easy mechanism. "Our partnership with the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation to lead this campaign utilizing the contributions we collate reflects our joint belief in the need to support social and service enterprises," he added.
The Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an serves as Abu Dhabi’s official channel for receiving social contributions. It empowers communities to deliver sustainable solutions addressing various social priorities. This ensures long-lasting impacts benefiting individuals across Abu Dhabi.
Ensuring Access to Education
The campaign also aims to cover operational costs for several schools. Applications for support can be submitted via Ma’an’s online platform (maan.gov.ae). Federal and local entities will help identify beneficiaries. The initiative builds on previous humanitarian campaigns in the UAE aimed at providing quality education for all students.
'Together for Education' reflects both organisations' missions: ensuring every student receives education and building a collaborative community delivering sustainable solutions. Contributions can be made through four channels: Ma’an’s online platform, ATMs (to First Abu Dhabi Bank account AE130354031003988349007), or kiosks in shopping malls.
This initiative supports students from low-income families, offering them opportunities to complete their education and build better futures. It emphasises Abu Dhabi’s dedication to meeting basic human needs, including education rights.
The campaign also highlights Emirati society's commitment to community cohesion and social solidarity. It reflects a vision focused on enhancing life quality for all residents in Abu Dhabi.
