Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation Celebrates 18 Years Of Humanitarian Achievements

The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, under the esteemed guidance of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the supervision of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, marks its eighteenth year of dedicated humanitarian and developmental efforts. With a strategic focus on health and education initiatives, the foundation has achieved notable progress in these critical areas, reflecting its commitment to fostering global well-being and knowledge.

In a significant move to bolster healthcare, the foundation has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Mayo Clinic. This collaboration is set to enhance scientific research and development, offering Emirati doctors opportunities for further study and specialization in medicine within the United States. A group of twenty medical personnel, including students from medical colleges, will benefit from a two-week training program in leadership and medical care, with an investment of AED2.6 million.

18 Years of Khalifa Foundation Impact

Additionally, the foundation is making strides in healthcare infrastructure by constructing the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Hospital in Nukus, Uzbekistan. This facility, specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, will feature 80 beds, an emergency department, and 12 outpatient clinics. Slated for completion in the first quarter of 2025, the project carries a budget of AED99 million.

Addressing unemployment through vocational education is another cornerstone of the foundation's strategy. In Senegal, construction is underway for the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Vocational Education and Training Centre. This centre aims to accommodate 1000 students across various majors including mechanics, automotive electrical systems, accounting, air conditioning, and refrigeration. The project is expected to conclude in the second quarter of 2024 with a budget of AED13 million.

In India, the foundation's involvement extends to maintaining and modernizing vocational education centers and constructing a building for internal classrooms. A computer lab has also been established across different regions to support engineering disciplines. The total investment in India's vocational education initiatives amounts to AED12,671,000.

The foundation's efforts in Mombasa, Kenya include operating and constructing additional classrooms at the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Technical School. This institution has gained recognition as one of the best in the Coastal Province, producing graduates who excel in various fields.

Supporting Language and Islamic Education

Beyond healthcare and vocational training, the foundation contributes to cultural education by providing 14 teachers for Arabic language and Islamic studies in Malaysian government schools in Pahang and schools in Kenya.

Through its multifaceted initiatives across healthcare, education, and vocational training in various countries, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation demonstrates an unwavering commitment to humanitarian and developmental work. These efforts not only improve individual lives but also contribute significantly to global development.
