Sheikh Khaled Inaugurates Dh3.1 Billion North Bani Yas Housing Initiative For Emirati Families

Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince Abu Dhabi and Chairman the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has officially inaugurated the first phase of the North Bani Yas housing project. This significant launch unveils 1,365 new villas dedicated to UAE nationals, showcasing an investment of Dh3.1 billion. This initiative is part of a broader vision directed by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aiming enhance the living standards of Emirati families.

The Crown Prince also introduced the name Al Mizn Neighbourhood for the extensive project, which will eventually encompass 3,453 villas across 9.06 square kilometres. Featuring a harmonious blend of modern design and Emirati cultural elements, the project represents a total investment of Dh9.3 billion. The villas, varying from five to six bedrooms, are strategically designed within 425 to 602 square metres, each standing on 1,080 square metre plots.

Sheikh Khaled Launches Housing Project

The inaugural phase brings forth 12 architectural styles, splitting the offerings into 820 villas with traditional Emirati aesthetics and 545 with a more contemporary approach. Notably, the development also includes 17 parks and recreational spaces, a school, five commercial complexes, over 15 kilometres of bicycle paths, and nearly 90 kilometres of pedestrian walkways, ensuring a rich, community-focused living environment.

Highlighting the project's significance, Sheikh Khaled remarked on the leadership's dedication to creating comprehensive communities that cater to the needs of Emirati families, thereby promoting their welfare and contributing to the nation's overall development. He emphasised the project's role in providing a high-quality lifestyle within a supportive community environment, which is crucial for advancing national development priorities.

During his visit, Sheikh Khaled reviewed the latest updates on the Al Mizn Neighbourhood, including the construction quality and the villas' design, which aim to meet the contemporary needs of Emirati families while adhering to sustainable development standards.

Accompanying him were key figures including Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA); Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi; Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director-General of ADHA; and Maysarah Mahmoud Eid, Acting Director-General of Abu Dhabi Centre for Projects and Infrastructure.

Al Shorafa expressed the project's significance as a major contribution to the emirate's housing sector, highlighting the authority's commitment to enhancing the quality of life through innovative housing solutions. Al Muhairi and Eid echoed this sentiment, focusing on the initiative's alignment with Abu Dhabi's vision for social cohesion, family stability, and high-quality housing solutions.

Since its inception in 2012, ADHA has played a pivotal role in the development of government housing for UAE nationals in the Abu Dhabi emirate. The authority has overseen the allocation of over 40,000 residential plots, completed more than 16,000 houses, approved over 49,000 housing loans, and facilitated housing loan exemptions for more than 4,000 citizens, totalling more than Dh149 billion.

The North Bani Yas housing project and the broader Al Mizn Neighbourhood initiative underscore the UAE leadership's ongoing commitment to improving the living conditions and well-being of its citizens. By integrating modern designs with traditional values and focusing on community development, these projects aim to set a new standard for residential living in the UAE.
