KFSHRC And SFDA Join Forces To Strengthen Pharmaceutical Safety Research In Saudi Arabia
The King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC) has formed a collaboration with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA). This partnership is designed to enhance the national safety database by providing essential data assets. The information will aid in research focused on pharmaceutical product safety, supporting evidence-based decisions that improve public health and safety regulations.
The agreement was formalised during the Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh. It was signed by Dr. Majid bin Ibrahim Alfayyadh, Chief Executive of KFSHRC, and Dr. Hisham bin Saad Aljadhey, Chief Executive of SFDA. Executives from both organisations were present at the signing, alongside other attendees of the event.

Under this agreement, KFSHRC and SFDA commit to maintaining high standards of cybersecurity and privacy. They will employ advanced encryption technologies approved by regulators to protect the confidentiality and integrity of information assets during their transmission and exchange.
The data involved includes a range of demographic and medical information. This encompasses age, gender, marital status, chronic diseases, surgeries, medical examinations, and diagnostic procedures. Such comprehensive data is crucial for enhancing research on pharmaceutical product safety.
This collaboration is part of broader efforts to advance research on pharmaceutical product safety. It aims to improve healthcare quality by minimising potential risks and developing modern safety standards that address evolving health challenges.
Additionally, the partnership seeks to maximise the benefits of medical data in advancing research and scientific studies. These efforts are intended to improve the health and safety of individuals as well as the community at large.
