KFSHRC Partners With Ministry Of Industry To Enhance Innovation In Industrial And Mining Products

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) has partnered with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources to aid innovators in the industrial and mining sectors. This collaboration aims to help transform innovative ideas into scalable products. The agreement was formalised during the 21st General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Riyadh.

The signing ceremony included Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef and KFSHRC CEO Dr. Majid Alfayyadh. Representing KFSHRC was Professor Jackie Ying, Director General of Research and Innovation, while Dr. Mohammed bin Saeed Al Dughaim, Director General of the General Department of Innovation, represented the ministry.

KFSHRC and Ministry Collaborate on Innovation

This agreement positions KFSHRC as a service provider within the Innovative Industrial and Mining Products Program. The program supports innovators through various stages such as idea emergence, testing, intellectual property registration, prototype design, training, mentorship, business model development, project financing, production plans, expansion strategies, export strategies, and market entry support services.

Both parties will collaborate to provide scientific consultations and access to specialised expertise for idea analysis and development. They will also offer research resources and evaluation tools that improve innovation quality and readiness for implementation. This partnership aims to develop national solutions that are competitive globally.

KFSHRC has achieved significant recognition on a global scale. It ranks first in the Middle East and North Africa region and 15th worldwide among academic medical centres for 2025. Additionally, it holds the highest-valued healthcare brand in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East according to Brand Finance 2025.
