KFSHRC Showcases Leading Organ Transplantation Program At Global Health Exhibition 2025
King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) is presenting its Organ Transplantation Program at the Global Health Exhibition 2025. This program exemplifies Saudi Arabia's leadership in medical excellence both regionally and globally. The initiative integrates advanced surgical skills, innovative research, and comprehensive post-transplant care, all within a patient-focused setting.
The hospital has performed over 5,000 kidney transplants, including the highest number of paired kidney exchanges worldwide. This achievement highlights KFSHRC's role in setting new benchmarks in organ transplantation and medical innovation. Their specialized clinics address rare conditions like Wilson’s Disease and Cystic Fibrosis through precision medicine and coordinated care.

KFSHRC's Small Bowel Transplantation and Rehabilitation Program is the first of its kind in the Middle East. Since 2016, it has completed 16 bowel and multi-organ transplants. The program provides a structured rehabilitation pathway that restores intestinal function, significantly improving long-term outcomes for patients with intestinal failure.
A notable achievement includes the region’s first robotic pancreas transplant. This procedure restored natural insulin production in a young patient who previously depended on daily injections. Such milestones demonstrate KFSHRC's commitment to combining innovation, technology, and compassionate care to enhance patients’ lives.
The success of KFSHRC's programs lies in its integrated care model. This model brings together surgeons, transplant physicians, infectious disease experts, intensivists, pharmacists, and rehabilitation specialists for seamless collaboration. It ensures continuity from evaluation to long-term follow-up, optimizing outcomes and reducing complications.
KFSHRC has been ranked first in the Middle East and North Africa and fifteenth globally among the world’s top 250 academic medical centers for 2025. Brand Finance recognizes it as the region’s most valuable healthcare brand. Additionally, Newsweek lists it among the World’s Best Hospitals 2025 and Best Smart Hospitals 2026.
The hospital's multidisciplinary clinics also include those dedicated to Pulmonary Hypertension and the unique MNGIE Clinic. These facilities underscore KFSHRC's leadership in treating complex conditions through precision medicine.
This recognition reaffirms KFSHRC's leadership in innovation-driven care. Its achievements continue to transform patients' lives by redefining possibilities in modern transplantation.
