KFSHRC Celebrates Historic Graduation Of 334 Physicians From Fellowship And Residency Programs

The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) marked a significant milestone by graduating 334 physicians from the Saudi Board in 2024. This is the largest class in the hospital's history, showcasing its dedication to nurturing national medical talent and enhancing healthcare readiness. The ceremony took place at Princess Haya bint Turki Conference Hall at Alfaisal University in Riyadh.

Dr. Majid Alfayyadh, CEO of KFSHRC, presided over the event, which was attended by Prof. Aws bin Ibrahim Al-Shamsan, Secretary-General of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, along with several hospital leaders. Dr. Alfayyadh expressed immense pride in the graduates, acknowledging their years of hard work and sacrifice.

In his address, Dr. Alfayyadh urged graduates to uphold sincerity and professionalism as they begin their careers serving their community and nation. He emphasized the Kingdom's leadership support for healthcare, which has led to expanded specialized training programs and initiatives aligning with top international standards.

The fellowship program had the largest group of graduates with 191 physicians. Additionally, 120 residents completed various residency programs, while 23 individuals finished specialized health diploma courses. This diverse training reflects KFSHRC's commitment to developing a well-rounded healthcare workforce.

Dr. Alfayyadh also thanked Alfaisal University for its effective partnership and acknowledged the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties' crucial role in developing training programs that enhance healthcare practitioners' skills. These collaborations are vital for advancing healthcare education and research excellence.

The Academic and Training Affairs Department at KFSHRC has delivered over 200 specialized programs, many internationally accredited and unique to the region. This achievement underscores KFSHRC's dedication to building a qualified national workforce that excels in healthcare, education, and research.

Vision 2030 Initiative Support

This graduation milestone significantly contributes to the Health Sector Transformation Program under Vision 2030. The initiative aims to develop a model healthcare system focused on prevention while empowering national talent. Graduating these physicians aligns with this vision by strengthening the country's healthcare capabilities.
