Kaaba Kiswa Replacement Completed In Record Time Through Innovative Techniques And Planning

The General Presidency for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque efficiently completed the annual Kiswa replacement ceremony for the Holy Kaaba in 1447 AH. The operation began at midnight on Thursday, Muharram 1, and concluded by 6:40 a.m. This marked a four-hour reduction compared to previous years, showcasing significant improvements in operational efficiency.

The presidency attributed this achievement to an advanced system that emphasized meticulous planning and precise execution. A key factor was the adoption of a mechanism for pre-sewing the four sides of the Kiswa. This innovation allowed for smoother task execution and reduced time spent on securing the Kiswa belt.

Kaaba Kiswa Changed in Record Time

Preparations involved determining the upper and lower limits of the Kiswa belt using adhesive tape. This method significantly cut down on time previously needed for weighing and securing the belt. Additionally, ropes used to lift the Kiswa were prepared in advance by pre-determining their height, enabling technicians to access fixing points on the Kaaba’s roof quickly.

Extensive training was provided to technical staff well ahead of time. This preparation enhanced their skills and confidence, which was evident in both performance quality and speed of completion. The work teams effectively utilized advanced technologies and modern tools throughout all stages of replacing the Kiswa.

The presidency's efforts highlight its commitment to continuously developing services for the Two Holy Mosques. By integrating innovative technical and organizational measures, they ensured safety and efficiency from removing the old Kiswa to securely installing and fastening the new one at each corner of the Holy Kaaba.

This accomplishment underscores wise leadership's dedication to enhancing performance quality in all aspects related to caring for the Holy Kaaba. Such developments honor its profound religious and historical significance for Muslims worldwide.
