Jusoor Exhibition Launches In Mauritania To Strengthen Cultural Ties And Promote Quran Memorisation

The Saudi Ambassador to Mauritania, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Raqabi, recently inaugurated the Jusoor Exhibition. This event coincides with the first edition of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Competition for Memorizing the Holy Quran and the Sunnah. The Mauritanian Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, Sidi Yahya Ould Cheikhna Ould Lemrabet, was also present.

The competition is organised by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Islamic Affairs in collaboration with Mauritania's Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education. It runs from October 15 to 18. The opening ceremony is set for Tuesday, with preliminary rounds from October 15 to 17, and the final ceremony on October 19.

Jusoor Exhibition Opens in Mauritania

The Jusoor Exhibition showcases over 12 interactive sections. These include areas dedicated to the Holy Quran, photography, Saudi attire, mosques, and the Two Holy Mosques. Additional sections focus on Arabic calligraphy, technology, hospitality, and children. A large electronic screen highlights Saudi Arabia's contributions to Islam globally.

This exhibition aims to strengthen ties between Africa and Saudi Arabia. It allows African nations to benefit from services provided by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Islamic Affairs. The event also seeks to communicate Saudi Arabia's efforts in promoting moderation and rejecting extremism while spreading Islamic principles.

The competition encourages Muslim youth to engage deeply with the Holy Quran by memorising and understanding it. It fosters healthy competition among those who have memorised the Quran. This highlights Saudi Arabia's commitment to teaching the Quran and promoting Prophet Mohammed's teachings.

Participants are encouraged to connect with the Sunnah by preserving and applying its teachings while learning Islamic sciences. The event promotes a path of moderation in adherence to these teachings.

The exhibition also presents a detailed overview of historical developments in serving the Holy Quran, Sunnah, and holy sites. It emphasises cultural, scientific, sharia, and linguistic aspects of Saudi Arabia’s contributions.

By hosting this event alongside the competition, Saudi Arabia aims to clarify its message in promoting Islam's core values worldwide. The exhibition serves as a platform for showcasing initiatives that support these goals.
