Jumeirah Eco Village Launches At Madinat Jumeirah To Promote Sustainable Living And Education

Jumeirah, a prominent name in luxury hospitality and part of Dubai Holding, has introduced the Jumeirah Eco Village. This new sustainability hub at Madinat Jumeirah aims to promote eco-friendly living through engaging educational experiences. The initiative aligns with Jumeirah's commitment to offering unique and purposeful guest experiences.

The Eco Village serves as a platform to showcase Jumeirah's efforts in environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, food security, and responsible production. Visitors embark on an immersive journey that begins with a homegrown beehive at Madinat Jumeirah. This exhibit highlights the crucial role pollinators play in maintaining biodiversity.

Jumeirah Eco Village Opens in Dubai

Jumeirah's dedication to marine conservation is prominently featured at the Eco Village. Exhibits detail the Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project (DTRP), which has successfully rescued, rehabilitated, and released over 2,320 turtles into the Arabian Gulf since 2004. Additionally, Jumeirah's coral restoration programme is showcased.

The brand is actively involved in ocean stewardship by nurturing more than 1,400 coral fragments at the Jumeirah Al Naseem nursery. Over 300 of these fragments have been relocated to the sea. Moreover, Jumeirah supports DUBAI REEF, one of the largest reef developments globally, where over 3,000 coral fragments thrive in offshore nurseries.

Visitors can explore broader commitments such as waste reduction, circularity, responsible sourcing, and decarbonisation. The experience concludes with a plastic-repurposing workshop. Here, guests transform plastic waste into functional products through the Jumeirah Recycle Hub powered by UAE-based climate tech start-up Midori Network.

Thomas B. Meier, CEO of Jumeirah, commented on this launch: "As we continue our global expansion, we remain committed to being a good neighbour and honouring the environment of every destination we call home. Jumeirah Eco Village is an immersive platform that showcases the work we are doing to advance our sustainability agenda."

Educational Initiatives for Future Generations

In September 2025, Jumeirah collaborated with Ocean Generation to enhance marine environmental education in UAE schools. The UNESCO-endorsed Ocean Academy programme was piloted across five Dubai schools. It aims to make ocean science accessible to learners of various ages with a focus on younger generations.

The Eco Village will welcome guests starting from 11th December 2025. Through this initiative, Jumeirah seeks to inspire guests and communities to embrace sustainable practices in their everyday lives while demonstrating its commitment to sustainability across its People, Planet, and Governance pillars.
