Julphar Signs Long-Term Lease For Integrated Pharmaceutical Facility In Saudi Arabia With Modon

Julphar is moving ahead with its expansion in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through a new integrated pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, a project valued at about SAR 300 million that is planned to create up to 1,400 direct jobs and support national efforts to strengthen health security, industrial growth, and exports across the GCC and wider global markets.

The planned site in Jeddah will be built on 45,000 square metres of land within Modon 3rd Industrial City, where Julphar has signed a long-term lease agreement, positioning the company close to key transport links and established infrastructure to improve logistics, secure a reliable supply chain, and ensure efficient access to both domestic and regional customers.

By locating production in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Julphar aims to support Saudi Vision 2030, with a focus on technology transfer, local industrial capability development, and greater self-sufficiency in medicines, while the project is also intended to reinforce the localisation of pharmaceutical expertise and contribute to a more resilient healthcare system over the long term.

Once operational, the Jeddah facility is expected to function as part of Julphar’s wider, globally accredited manufacturing network, which already supplies more than 40 countries, and the new site is planned to act as a major export platform for pharmaceutical products destined for the US, GCC states, and other international markets.

The plant design includes advanced technologies for sterile injectables and oral solid dosage forms, aligned with international quality, safety, and regulatory standards, and Julphar plans to prioritise biologics and specialty medicines for critical care and chronic diseases, with the product portfolio set to expand over time in response to changing needs in Saudi Arabia and surrounding regional markets.
