Qassim Governor Prince Dr. Faisal Attends Signing Of Jubail–Buraydah Water Pipeline Project Agreements
The Governor of the Qassim Region, Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, attended the signing ceremony for the Jubail - Buraydah Independent Water Transmission Pipeline Project. The event was also graced by the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman Alfadley. This significant project is valued at SAR 8.5 billion.
Prince Dr. Faisal emphasized the importance of this initiative, which underscores the leadership's dedication to enhancing national water infrastructure and security. This aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's objectives. He praised the minister's commitment to improving water sector efficiency and thanked all parties involved for their role in sustainable development.

Eng. Alfadley expressed his gratitude to Prince Dr. Faisal for supporting regional development projects. He highlighted the crucial role of private sector partnerships in advancing the water sector. Such collaborations improve service quality, spending efficiency, and leverage private expertise in construction and management.
The project aims to bolster water security by connecting the Eastern and Qassim regions with desalinated drinking water. It spans 587 kilometers with a design capacity of up to 650,000 cubic meters per day. This initiative is vital for ensuring a continuous water supply across these regions.
A key feature of this project is its reverse pumping capability from Al-Shimasiyah Governorate through Al-Qulayyib to Jubail City. This ensures a consistent water supply, aligning with regional connectivity plans across Saudi Arabia. The project also includes constructing strategic reservoirs to enhance distribution efficiency.
Six strategic reservoirs will be built in Al-Shimasiyah Governorate and three in Jubail City, with a combined capacity of 1,634,500 cubic meters. These reservoirs are crucial for maintaining a sustainable water supply in both regions.
This project represents a significant step towards strengthening water security in Saudi Arabia by linking key regions with reliable desalinated water sources.
