Joy Awards 2024 Celebrates Top Entertainment Achievements In Riyadh With Star-Studded Ceremony

The fifth Joy Awards ceremony was held at ANB Arena in Riyadh, celebrating both Arab and international stars. Organised by the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) under Turki Al Al Shikh's leadership, the event attracted celebrities and notable guests worldwide. The evening began with artistic performances, setting the stage for the awards presentation.

Syrian actor Samer Ismail received recognition as Favorite Actor in the TV Series category. Saudi actress Al Anoud Abdulhakim was honoured as Favorite New Face in the Series category. The award for Favorite Egyptian Series went to "Ne’mat El-Afokado," while "Shabab Al-Bomb 12" won Favorite Gulf Series, accepted by Faisal Al-Issa.

Lifetime Achievement Awards were given to several distinguished figures. Syrian artist Yaser Alazmeh, American actor Morgan Freeman, Italian musician Andrea Bocelli, Saudi filmmaker Abdullah Al-Muheisen, Kuwaiti singer Abdullah Al Ruwaished, and international composer Hans Zimmer were all honoured for their contributions to their respective fields.

Huda Hussein was awarded Favorite Actress in the Series category. Hana Al-Zahed took home the award for Favorite Actress in Cinema, while Egyptian actor Hesham Maged was named Favorite Actor in Cinema. These awards highlighted exceptional talent across different entertainment sectors.

In sports, Salem Al-Dawsari was celebrated as Favorite Athlete. Saudi mixed martial artist Hattan Alsaif received recognition as Favorite Female Athlete. The Diamond Entertainment Industry Award was a significant highlight of the evening, presented posthumously to Prince Badr bin Abdulmohsen for his poetic contributions. His son, Prince Khaled bin Badr, accepted this honour on his behalf.

The Most Popular Song award saw a first-time tie between Egyptian singers Angham and Tamer Ashour. Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad was acknowledged for his remarkable influence on fashion. Majid Al Mohandis won Favorite Song, while Ahmad Al Qahtani and Narin Beauty were recognised as Favorite Influencers.

Emerging Talents and Industry Veterans

The award for Emerging Musical Talent went to Saudi artist Rakan Al Sa’ed. Matthew McConaughey received the Personality of the Year honour. The Joy Awards also paid tribute to industry veterans like Mariam Al Saleh and Ibrahim Al-Sallal, along with several Gulf icons who have played pioneering roles in entertainment.

This event underscored Saudi Arabia's dynamic entertainment industry, promoting collaboration between local and international talents. It showcased a vibrant cultural scene that continues to grow and evolve through such prestigious platforms.
