Arab League And OIC Leaders Issue Joint Statement At US Summit Addressing Gaza Crisis
A summit involving the United States and eight Arab states, along with members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), took place at the United Nations Headquarters. This meeting coincided with the High-Level Week of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Initiated by U.S. President Donald J. Trump, it was co-hosted by Qatar's Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Attendees included Jordan's King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, Türkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto, Pakistan's Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Egypt's Prime Minister Moustafa Kamal Madbouly, UAE's Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Saudi Arabia's Foreign Affairs Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah.

The leaders expressed gratitude to President Trump for convening this crucial meeting. They highlighted the dire situation in Gaza, noting the humanitarian crisis and its severe impact on the region and the Muslim world. The leaders collectively rejected forced displacement and stressed the need for displaced individuals to return home.
Emphasizing an immediate ceasefire, they called for an end to hostilities to facilitate hostage release and allow humanitarian aid into Gaza. The leaders underscored their commitment to work with President Trump towards achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.
The participants stressed the importance of developing a stabilization plan while ensuring stability in the West Bank and Jerusalem’s holy sites. They supported Palestinian Authority reform efforts and emphasized a comprehensive reconstruction plan for Gaza based on Arab and OIC initiatives.
International assistance was deemed vital to support Palestinian leadership in these efforts. The leaders committed to working together to ensure successful implementation of these plans and rebuilding lives in Gaza.
