Joint Incidents Assessment Team Confirms No Airstrike By Coalition Forces In Al-Sagf Village On 21 February 2022
The Joint Incidents Assessment Team (JIAT) has addressed an allegation concerning an airstrike by Coalition Forces on a house in Al-Sagf village, located in the Al-Jarr area of the Abs directorate in Hajjah governorate. This incident was reported to have occurred on 21 February 2022 at 12:30 am.
JIAT received this claim from the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCHR) representative in Yemen. The team conducted a thorough investigation into the matter, examining various documents such as air tasking orders, mission schedules, and satellite images. They also reviewed the Coalition Forces' rules of engagement and international humanitarian law principles.

After assessing all available evidence, JIAT determined that no coordinates for the alleged house were provided. The investigation revealed that Al-Sagf village is situated within the Abs directorate of Hajjah governorate. However, no air missions were conducted by Coalition Forces on this location on the date in question.
Further analysis of air missions carried out by Coalition Forces on 21 February 2022 showed no operations took place in Al-Sagf village. JIAT extended their review to include missions conducted one day before and after the alleged date to ensure comprehensive coverage.
On 20 February 2022, JIAT found that no air missions targeted Al-Sagf village. Similarly, on 22 February 2022, there were no air operations conducted in that area. This extended review confirmed that Coalition Forces did not engage in any activities related to the claim.
"In light of that; JIAT found that Coalition Forces did not target a (house) in (Al-Sagf) village in (Al-Jarr) area in (Abs) directorate of (Hajjah) governorate, on (21/02/2022), as claimed," stated JIAT.
The findings underscore that no airstrike was carried out by Coalition Forces on the specified date and location. This conclusion is based on a detailed examination of mission records and other relevant data.
