UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team Achieves Six Medals On Opening Day Of Grand Prix Paris Open 2025

The UAE Jiu-Jitsu National Team, backed by Mubadala Investment Company, showcased a commendable performance at the Grand Prix Paris Open 2025. On the first day of the event in Paris, they clinched six medals: four gold and two silver. The competition, featuring 400 athletes from 30 nations, will conclude on Sunday.

Gold medals were claimed by Shamma Al Kalbani (63kg), Omar Ali Alsuwaidi (56kg), Mayed Al Shehhi (62kg), and Mohammed Al Suwaidi (69kg). Theyab Alnuaimi (56kg) and Khaled Al Shehhi (62kg) secured silver medals. These achievements highlight the team's dedication and preparation.

UAE Jiu-Jitsu Team Wins Six Medals

Mubarak Saleh Al Menhali, Director of the Technical Department at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, credited their success to rigorous training and strategic planning. He stated that these results reflect the athletes’ hard work and commitment. The team’s strong showing is a significant step towards future events like the JJAU Regional Championship West Asia in Jordan, the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, and the World Games 2025 in China.

Al Menhali congratulated the athletes for excelling against tough competitors due to their determination and discipline. He noted there is still an opportunity to win more medals on the final day of the championship.

National team coach Helder Medeiros expressed satisfaction with their performance, emphasizing that it shows ongoing progress. "Championships like the Grand Prix Paris Open provide essential experience, helping our athletes build their competitive edge ahead of major international competitions," he said.
