Investigation Clears Coalition Forces Over Alleged School Vicinity Attack In Sa'ada
The Joint Incidents Assessment Team (JIAT) released a statement addressing allegations against Coalition Forces. The claim involved an artillery shell targeting a site near children leaving Al-Haijah elementary school in Mathwyah, Razih, Sa'ada on 23 November 2019.
JIAT examined the incident by reviewing various documents, including the Coalition Surface Forces' firing log and satellite images. They also considered the Coalition Forces' rules of engagement and International Humanitarian Law principles.

After thorough vetting, JIAT determined that Mathwyah is situated in the western part of Razih, Sa'ada. They studied the surface missions conducted by Coalition Forces on the claimed date.
According to JIAT's findings, no fire support weapons were used by Coalition Forces in Mathwyah on 23 November 2019. This contradicts the allegation of targeting a site near children leaving Al-Haijah elementary school.
Based on their assessment, JIAT concluded that Coalition Forces did not target any location near children at Al-Haijah elementary school in Mathwyah, Razih, Sa'ada on the specified date.
"In light of that; JIAT found that Coalition Forces did not target a site near children who were leaving Al-Heja elementary school in (Mathwyah) area in (Razih) directorate of (Sa'ada) governorate on (23/11/2019), as claimed."
