JEDI And RDIA Announce Strategic Cooperation On Advanced Research And Technology Initiatives
The Joint European Disruptive Initiative (JEDI) and the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDIA) have announced plans to explore collaboration on advanced research and technology. This announcement coincides with French President Emmanuel Macron's three-day State visit to Saudi Arabia. Both organisations aim to identify and initiate projects that tackle significant global challenges through advanced research and technology.
During their discussions, JEDI and RDIA agreed to pinpoint future collaborative projects. They aim to establish a strategic partnership in the coming months. The first initiatives might be revealed at the AI Action Summit in Paris. This cooperation could involve joint 'moonshot' research programs and technology foresight, leveraging top teams from academia, young deeptech companies, and industry.

Dr. Mohammed Alotaibi, Acting Head of RDIA, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: "Activating this collaboration reflects our joint commitment with JEDI to exploring radical new approaches to innovation that align with our national research and innovation priorities for impactful science and technological advancement, and progress for our country and our society."
The cooperation will focus on various fields such as energy, environment, biotechnologies, AI, and space. By combining resources from research institutions and innovative companies, they aim to address critical issues effectively. This partnership highlights the potential for international collaboration in advancing research and technology.
André Loesekrug-Pietri, Chairman and Scientific Director of JEDI, stated: "We are excited to share our moonshot R&D expertise with RDIA, recognizing the immense potential of combining our strengths to push the frontiers of science and technology, and solve some of society’s greatest challenges."
This initiative marks a significant step towards fostering international cooperation in advanced research. It sets the stage for transformative advancements in these fields by uniting expertise from different sectors.
