Jeddah To Host A Range Of Global Sporting Events Starting With The Spanish Super Cup In January 2025
Jeddah is set to host a variety of sporting events in early 2025, starting with the Spanish Super Cup from January 8 to 12. This marks the fifth time the event will be held in Saudi Arabia, aiming to boost sports, economic, and tourism sectors. Matches will feature Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao, and Real Mallorca at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.
The Spanish Super Cup will follow a knockout format. The opening match on January 8 will see Barcelona play against Athletic Bilbao. The following day, January 9, Real Madrid will compete with Real Mallorca. The winners of these matches will face off in the final on Sunday evening, January 12.

Continuing its tradition of hosting major sports events, Jeddah will welcome the Formula E races on February 14-15. These races are part of the 11th season's third and fourth rounds at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. The event features fully electric racing cars that produce no carbon emissions.
In addition to Formula E, Jeddah will also host the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix stc Formula 1 from April 18 to 20. This race is one of the most exciting global events and will be held for the fifth consecutive year at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
The city will again host the opening round of the E1 Electric Boat Racing on January 24-25. Last year's event was thrilling as competitors battled for victory, with Brady team securing first place with 20 points along the Red Sea coast.
Jeddah is also set to host the Extreme E electric off-road race for a fifth time. This innovative race highlights climate change impacts while promoting sustainable technologies and electric vehicles for a greener future.
Saudi Vision 2030 and Future Events
The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix stc Formula 1 aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's goals to enhance life quality across various sectors like culture and sports. It aims to make Saudi Arabia an attractive place for living and visiting.
Moreover, Jeddah will be a venue for World Cup 2026 qualifiers featuring Saudi national football team matches. Additional global events and competitions are expected to be announced soon by the Ministry of Sport and its federations.
