Jeddah Historic District Enhances Tourism With Cruise Saudi Partnership
In a significant move to boost tourism and cultural exploration in Saudi Arabia, the Jeddah Historic District Program, under the auspices of the Saudi Ministry of Culture, has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Cruise Saudi. This strategic partnership aims to accommodate the surging number of international cruise visitors keen on delving into the authentic sites of the historic district. This collaboration underscores a mutual commitment to showcasing the region's historical landmarks and cultural identity, thereby enhancing the commercial vibrancy of the area, fostering investment opportunities for entrepreneurs, and elevating the tourist experience with the support of Saudi tourist guides.
Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Issa, Director General of the Jeddah Historic District Program, highlighted the tourism sector's burgeoning growth and prosperity. He emphasized that this partnership aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's objectives to amplify the Kingdom's footprint on the global tourism map. "Our strategic partnership with Cruise Saudi is to drive economic growth and actively engage in the district's revitalization. We are committed to protecting the tangible and intangible heritage that earned the district its UNESCO status, recognizing its profound cultural impact," Al-Issa remarked.

Lars Clasen, CEO of Cruise Saudi, shared insights into the popularity of Jeddah’s Historic District as a prime Shorex destination. He noted the enthusiasm international passengers exhibit in exploring the district's unique historic sites through various tours and experiences offered. "This MoU represents our shared vision and marks an exciting new chapter for collaborative efforts to draw even more visitors to this enchanting destination while protecting its heritage and authenticity," Clasen stated.
