In October 2025, DP World's Jebel Ali Port achieved a remarkable milestone by handling 630,000 tonnes of breakbulk cargo. This figure marks the highest monthly total in nearly 20 years. The surge highlights the region's industrial and construction growth, with significant contributions from increased imports of iron and steel for major UAE projects like the Dubai Metro Blue Line and DWC airport expansion.

Breakbulk cargo, which includes heavy materials and oversized items for large-scale projects, remains crucial to Jebel Ali's operations. The port's performance builds on a strong 2024 when breakbulk volumes rose by 23% year-on-year to reach 5.36 million metric tonnes.
