JAX Flavors Initiative Transforms Diriyah’s JAX District Into A Culinary Hub For Food Entrepreneurs

JAX District, a prominent creative hub in Saudi Arabia managed by the Diriyah Biennale Foundation, has introduced JAX Flavors. This culinary initiative aims to honour the region's diverse food entrepreneurs while promoting innovation within Riyadh's evolving food scene. The district is known for hosting multidisciplinary artists and cultural organisations, as well as major cultural events like the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale.

JAX Flavors offers both emerging and established chefs from Saudi Arabia and the surrounding region a vibrant platform to explore new culinary concepts. This initiative allows them to reach wider audiences and integrate into Diriyah's lively creative ecosystem. The program encourages a variety of cuisines and approaches, including zero-waste food concepts, artisanal bakeries, street food innovations, and full-service dining experiences.

The initiative is part of JAX District's mission to extend its cultural placemaking efforts into the realm of culinary innovation. By providing this platform, JAX Flavors supports chefs in experimenting with novel ideas and showcasing their talents during major art, design, music, and fashion events throughout the season.

Selected culinary concepts will have the opportunity to operate within the industrial heritage site for periods ranging from two to six months. This aligns with various significant cultural events taking place during the season. The program particularly seeks concepts that highlight meaningful community connections and responsible sourcing practices.

Priority will be given to food concepts that exhibit market uniqueness and strong storytelling around ingredients and sourcing. A commitment to using high-quality ingredients with sustainable practices is also essential. Successful applicants must demonstrate operational readiness to participate in this initiative.
