Emirates National Schools (ENS) recently hosted a delegation from the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education, marking a significant step in the cultural and educational exchange between the UAE and Japan. This visit included 24 students, six teachers, and three administrative staff members. The primary goal was to enhance educational ties and explore innovative teaching methods and technologies.
During their visit, the Japanese delegation toured ENS's Technology and Career Centres. Here, they observed cutting-edge instructional methods, educational programmes, and digital innovations. The tour featured specialised workshops in fields like artificial intelligence, engineering, science, media, programming, robotics, and design. These workshops aim to develop students' skills according to international standards.

The visit also included practical demonstrations and enrichment workshops focused on future skills. This provided the Japanese visitors with a chance to experience Emirati culture and community values firsthand. Such interactions are crucial for fostering mutual understanding between different cultures.
Lachlan Ewen MacKinnon, Director-General of Emirates National Schools, emphasised the significance of this cultural exchange. He noted that it aligns with the leadership’s vision of promoting openness and international collaboration. "Cultural exchange builds bridges of understanding and cooperation between students of both countries," he stated.

He highlighted that this initiative offered valuable insights into the UAE's advanced educational practices and its integration of technology into curricula. According to him, such initiatives serve as a model for international cooperation in education.
Aligning with Strategic Goals
This collaboration is part of ENS's strategy to strengthen its presence locally, regionally, and internationally by expanding partnerships with leading institutions. It aims to develop programmes that equip students with global skills and advanced educational experiences aligned with top international standards.
