The fourth Arabic Poetry Forum took place in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. Organised by the Cultural Affairs Department at the Sharjah Department of Culture, the event featured ten poets. This initiative aligns with Sharjah's vision to promote Arabic language globally and nurture poetic talent.

Dr. Bamba Issaka, the forum's coordinator, expressed gratitude to His Highness for his dedication to Arabic language promotion worldwide, especially in Africa. He noted that nine African countries are experiencing a cultural and literary renaissance through this forum. "The festival would not have seen the light of day without the grace of God," he stated.

The forums aim to create a communication bridge for Arabic language enthusiasts and provide a platform for poets to display their skills. These events are designed to foster a love for Arabic poetry and offer promising opportunities for showcasing talent. The initiative is part of a broader effort to spread the Arabic language across different regions.

Dr. Diaby Moussa, Dean of the Faculty of Arabic Language at Al Furqan Islamic University in Ivory Coast, highlighted that participants share a passion for eloquence and words. He described Arabic as more than just a communication tool; it is deeply connected to history and emotion. "It is the strings of the heart and the echo of history as it is narrated," Moussa said.

The forum was attended by notable figures such as Dr. Konaté Haroun, President of the Islamic University of Africa, along with poets, researchers, academics, writers, intellectuals, and lovers of Arabic poetry. This gathering underscores a significant cultural movement happening across Africa under this forum's umbrella.

Moussa further elaborated on poetry's role within the Arabic language, calling it "the anthology of the Arabs." He praised its ability to capture human experiences through refined expression. The event provided an opportunity for poets from various backgrounds to connect over their shared love for this art form.

This edition marks another step in Sharjah's ongoing efforts to support cultural exchange and literary development in Africa. By bringing together diverse voices from around the world, these forums continue to strengthen ties between cultures through shared linguistic heritage.
