Ithra Supports Saudi Students Achieving Top 10 At Aramco STEM Racing World Finals In Singapore

Saudi students, backed by the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), have achieved a significant milestone by winning two awards at the 20th Aramco STEM Racing World Finals in Singapore. This event, held from September 25 to October 1, featured a 20-meter racetrack where students demonstrated their creativity. The competition is known as the largest global celebration of engineering, science, and innovation.

Four Saudi teams—Rimah, Yalla, Giddam, and Sadeem—represented the Kingdom after advancing from the Saudi National STEM Racing Finals at Ithra in Dhahran earlier this year. These teams managed to break into the global top 10 rankings, making Saudi Arabia the only country to achieve multiple top positions since the competition began.

Saudi Students Shine at Aramco STEM Finals

The STEM Racing KSA Program has been instrumental in this success. Since December, it has engaged over 280 students aged 14–16 across six cities: Dhahran, Al-Ahsa, Riyadh, Madinah, Jeddah, and Abha. The program combines academic knowledge with practical engineering experience.

Launched in 2022 as F1 in Schools before evolving into STEM Racing KSA, this initiative is supported by Aramco. It aims to integrate school curricula with scientific experience by allowing students to design and manufacture race cars powered by compressed gas cylinders for real track racing.

Maha Abdulhadi, Head of the STEM Racing KSA Program at Ithra, expressed pride in this achievement: "Winning two international awards is a proud moment for Saudi Arabia, and a testament to the ambition and resilience of our youth. Earning a place among the global top 10 proves the Kingdom’s capacity to lead in applied education and innovation."

This accomplishment follows months of rigorous training and preparation. The program not only highlights Saudi talent but also showcases their creativity on an international platform. It serves as a stepping stone toward further international success.

Award-Winning Legacy

Saudi teams have consistently excelled in recent years. They have received notable awards such as the FIA Women in Motorsport Award (2022), Innovation Thinking Award (2023), Best Enterprise Portfolio Award, Best Engineered Car Award, and Best Application of Management Award (2024).

The achievements at the Aramco STEM Racing World Finals underscore Saudi Arabia's growing prominence in applied education and innovation fields. This success story reflects both dedication and potential for future accomplishments on a global scale.
