ITC Collaborates With TDRA And Abu Dhabi Maritime On Wireless Device Permits For Marine Vessels
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) has partnered with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) and Abu Dhabi Maritime to simplify the permit process for wireless devices on marine vessels in Abu Dhabi. This collaboration aims to improve government services, ease procedures for vessel owners, and support the maritime sector's digital transformation, enhancing its regional and global competitiveness.
Senior officials from each organisation attended the signing ceremony. Majed Sultan Al Mesmar of TDRA, Dr. Abdulla Hamad AlGhfeli of ITC, and Capt. Saif Al Mheiri of Abu Dhabi Maritime signed the agreement. This reflects their commitment to institutional integration and unified efforts in developing mechanisms for issuing wireless device permits for marine vessels.

Abu Dhabi Maritime will manage the issuance and renewal of permits for wireless devices, linking them to navigational licenses for marine vessels. This will be done in coordination with ITC, acting on behalf of TDRA. The agreement outlines complementary roles to ensure efficient cooperation among the parties involved.
ITC will coordinate efforts among all parties, monitor performance by reviewing reports, and share outputs with partners. This supports the agreement’s objectives and strengthens institutional integration among relevant entities. The TDRA will oversee technical aspects, train personnel at Abu Dhabi Maritime on permit application procedures, provide technical support, and supply data on licensed marine vessels.
Abu Dhabi Maritime is tasked with providing TDRA with updated data on marine vessels and their wireless devices. They will also collect fees due to TDRA under legal frameworks. This ensures smooth operations and enhances maritime licensing services' efficiency in Abu Dhabi.
The agreement signifies a strategic move towards improving maritime safety and security while fostering a smart navigational environment in Abu Dhabi waters. It aligns with Abu Dhabi’s vision for digital transformation by adopting innovative technological solutions that facilitate government services.
Commitment to Infrastructure Development
This partnership underscores a commitment to continually developing Abu Dhabi’s maritime infrastructure, boosting operational efficiency, and consolidating its status as an advanced maritime capital. The initiative supports sustainability and prosperity within the sector while advancing digital infrastructure efforts.
The collaboration between these entities represents a significant step towards enhancing operational performance within the Emirate's maritime sector. By streamlining processes through digital means, it simplifies procedures for customers while supporting comprehensive digital transformation goals.
