Italian Companies Seek To Boost Presence And Exports In UAE, Says Trade Commissioner Valerio Soldani
Italian companies are keen to increase their footprint in the UAE, a significant global business hub. Valerio Soldani, the Italian Trade Commissioner to the UAE, highlighted that over 600 Italian firms are already operating in the region. He emphasised that these companies are contributing significantly by offering advanced technologies that drive innovation and sustainability across various sectors.
Soldani revealed that Italy aims to boost its exports to the UAE, targeting $8 billion by the end of 2024. This goal reflects a record level for 'Made in Italy' products in the UAE market. Last year, Italian exports reached $7 billion, marking a 10.4% increase compared to the previous year. In the first seven months of this year, exports grew by 22%, particularly in technology and luxury goods.

During ADIPEC 2024 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), more than 150 Italian companies participated. Among them were 28 exhibitors supported by the Italian Trade Agency. Soldani noted that this event underscores Italy's commitment to strengthening ties with UAE businesses through innovative solutions.
Technological Contributions
Technology plays a crucial role in Italy's exports to the UAE. Soldani stated, "Italian companies significantly contribute to the UAE by delivering cutting-edge technologies that foster innovation." This focus on technology is part of Italy's broader strategy to enhance cooperation with local businesses and offer sustainable solutions.
The ongoing collaboration between Italian and UAE firms is expected to continue growing. By focusing on innovation and sustainability, Italian companies aim to solidify their presence in this dynamic market while achieving new export milestones by next year.
