Istituto Marangoni Teams Up With Saudi Fashion Commission For Riyadh Training Centre

In a significant move towards enhancing the fashion and luxury sectors within Saudi Arabia, Istituto Marangoni has announced a strategic partnership with the Saudi Fashion Commission. This collaboration was officially unveiled at a press conference in Riyadh, with notable figures such as Stefania Valenti, Global Managing Director of Istituto Marangoni, and Burak Cakmak, Chief Executive Officer of the Fashion Commission of Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Culture, leading the announcement. The event also saw the presence of Hamed bin Mohammed Fayez, Vice Minister of Culture.

This partnership marks a milestone as Istituto Marangoni will become the first international Higher Education Group specializing in creative fields such as fashion and luxury to establish its presence in Riyadh. The institute's mission aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to open new avenues for local talent development, women's empowerment, and employment opportunities in a rapidly transforming market.

Fashion Education Boost in Riyadh

The collaboration between Istituto Marangoni and the Saudi Fashion Commission is set to provide high-level educational support to both international and local brands. This initiative will help develop new creative and managerial skills across various sectors including fashion, luxury, fragrances, cosmetics, and visual merchandising. The ultimate goal is to support the further development of these industries within the kingdom.

Slated to open its doors in 2025, the new institute in Riyadh has been accredited by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC). It will offer an innovative academic program aimed at propelling careers in fashion, business, and luxury management. The main academic offering will be a three-year Advanced Diploma covering core areas such as Fashion Design, Fashion Management, Fashion Products, Fashion Styling & Creative Direction, and Interior Design.

Students enrolled in the program will have the opportunity to complete their Advanced Diploma in Riyadh with a six-month internship during their final year of study or pursue a Bachelor's Degree at any international Istituto Marangoni campus. Additionally, courses designed for aspiring and established professionals will be available to enhance skills in areas like fashion business, digital marketing, product management, and emerging technologies.

The success of a distance-learning course on Digital Fashion and CLO3D offered to Saudi designers highlights the market's readiness for such educational opportunities. Stefania Valenti expressed gratitude for this collaboration with the Fashion Commission and emphasized Istituto Marangoni's commitment to nurturing talented individuals who will contribute significantly to the local industry.

Valenti also highlighted the institute's innovative approach towards education by implementing AI and Metaverse technologies in its academic offerings. This forward-thinking vision aims to revolutionize education and prepare students for future challenges and opportunities within the fashion and luxury industries.

Burak Cakmak underscored the transformative impact that inaugurating Istituto Marangoni in Riyadh will have on local talent. He emphasized the Fashion Commission's dedication to nurturing creativity amid a rising demand for quality fashion education. This partnership represents a significant step forward in empowering local talent and fostering growth within Saudi Arabia's creative landscape.
