Islamic Arts Festival Features Diverse Artworks At House Of Wisdom And SPARK
Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, who oversees Cultural Affairs at the Sharjah Department of Culture and directs the Islamic Arts Festival, recently opened seven art installations. These were part of the 26th festival edition. The event occurred at the House of Wisdom and Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK). Marwa Al Aqroubi, Executive Director of the House of Wisdom, along with international artists and media representatives, attended.
The House of Wisdom showcased four artworks in its courtyards. "The Cloak Pavilion" by Aden Chan from Studio LYYH in Hong Kong was one of them. Romina Khanum from the UK presented "Illuminated Passages: The Five Pillars." Emirati artist Salma Al Mansouri displayed "Lighthouse," while Saudi artist Fatima Abdulhadi contributed "Keep Your Eyes on the Light."

SPARK featured three distinct artworks. Emirati artist Rawda Al Marzouqi created "Ashes and Order." Kuwaiti artist Mahmoud Shaker presented "Circle of Light," and Iranian artist Neda Salmanpour showcased "Repetition." Each piece offered a unique perspective aligned with the festival's theme, "Siraj" (Lantern).
Al Qaseer, along with attendees, explored these seven installations. They delved into the artists' concepts and experienced each piece's creative process. This exploration allowed them to appreciate the intricate details and narratives that each artwork conveyed.
The installations reflected a wide range of ideas and visions. Visitors engaged with artists as they shared their creative journeys. From initial concepts to final touches, each story was revealed through these artistic expressions.
The festival provided a platform for artists to align their works with its theme. This alignment was evident in how each piece told its story uniquely, offering visitors an enriching experience.
