Visitor Companion Initiative Showcases Islamic Affairs Ministry Digital Services In Madinah
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has launched the "visitor’s companion" initiative through its Madinah Region branch as part of Ramadan operational plans, introducing a package of digital services designed for Umrah performers, visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque, and worshippers in major mosques across the region.
The initiative supports the ministry’s wider digital transformation programme, aiming to make religious guidance and services more accessible. It highlights several applications and platforms that address the needs of visitors and Umrah performers, offering verified religious content, easier access to Islamic knowledge resources, and tools that help users understand and perform rituals correctly.

A central feature is the "Rushd" application, which provides trusted awareness and guidance materials in an organised digital format. The app includes 3D Hajj and Umrah technology that lets users explore the rituals through an interactive, simplified experience, with explanations available in multiple languages to support diverse visitors during Ramadan and throughout the year.
Through the same initiative, an electronic library is made available, offering wide access to Islamic books and scholarly works. Users can read and review major references without needing printed copies. This supports students of knowledge, preachers, and general visitors who wish to consult reliable Islamic sources while staying in Madinah or visiting the Prophet’s Mosque.
The "visitor’s companion" initiative also presents the "accurate citation" digital service, which acts as a reliable reference for verifying and documenting texts from the Holy Quran and the Two Sahihs. Users can search Quranic verses and Hadiths from Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, then copy and share results, including translations and interpretations.
The ministry is promoting these digital transformation tools through multiple awareness channels, including interactive screens, digital materials, guidance messages, and direct outreach at locations commonly visited by Umrah performers and other visitors. These efforts aim to achieve broad reach and effective use of the available services, supporting worshippers’ needs during Ramadan and beyond.
