Global Islamic Leaders Gather For 14th Executive Council Meeting In Makkah

The 14th Executive Council meeting of the Conference of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministers in the Islamic World was chaired today by Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, and Executive President of the Conference. The event is organised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The conference will span two days starting tomorrow in Makkah. It will see participation from ministers of Awqaf and Islamic affairs, muftis, and heads of Islamic councils and associations from 62 countries. The agenda for the current meeting was reviewed, and the agenda for the upcoming ninth conference was unanimously approved.

14th Islamic Council Meeting Held

Discussions included a proposal from the General Secretariat for the next conference. Additionally, it was decided that the 15th session of the Executive Council would be held in Morocco, following an invitation from Moroccan Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ahmed Toufiq.

The meeting also examined various suggestions on themes for the 14th tenth conference to address evolving needs within ministries of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. These proposals aim to adapt to developments in the Islamic world. Member states submitted proposals to enhance council operations, focusing on improving its efficacy.

The Executive Council comprises eight member countries: Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Gambia, Kuwait, Egypt, and Morocco. It operates with a focused strategy to oversee general conference resolutions' execution, issue pertinent decisions and recommendations, and devise conference agendas, reports, and preparatory tasks.

The working mechanism of the council was also discussed during this meeting. This included reviewing suggestions tailored to meet evolving needs within ministries of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in light of recent developments in the Islamic world.

In conclusion, this gathering underscores a collaborative effort among member states to address contemporary challenges faced by ministries of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs globally. The decisions made are expected to enhance cooperation and operational efficiency within these ministries.
