ION Introduces UAE's First Fully Integrated Electric Vehicle Charging Platform For Drivers
ION, a sustainable mobility initiative by BEEAH and Crescent Enterprises, has introduced the UAE's first fully integrated electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem. This system includes the ION app and a Charge Point Management System, offering comprehensive charging solutions. In collaboration with the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA), over 100 ultra-fast EV chargers will be deployed nationwide.
The platform was unveiled at the Evolve Future Mobility Show held at Expo Centre Sharjah. It aims to resolve persistent challenges in EV infrastructure by connecting drivers, operators, property owners, fleet managers, and government stakeholders through a single digital network. The ION app allows users to find nearby charging stations, while operators can access real-time performance data and management tools.

Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO and Vice Chairman of BEEAH, stated that this launch is a significant step towards speeding up city electrification in the region. It facilitates easier access to charging networks and encourages new market entrants. Tushar Singhvi, Deputy CEO and Head of Investments at Crescent Enterprises, highlighted that this initiative strengthens the GCC's move towards sustainable mobility and positions the UAE as a leader in clean transport.
The rollout is part of ION’s collaboration with SRTA to improve Sharjah’s EV infrastructure using ultra-fast chargers that deliver up to 400kW of power. These chargers can fully charge vehicles in about 20 minutes. This initiative supports the UAE’s net-zero targets and sustainable transport objectives.
Amir Melad, CEO of ION, expressed that their goal is to make EV adoption seamless for users and profitable for businesses through their connected, AI-enabled platform. At its pavilion, ION showcased features like real-time charging and automatic payment capabilities. The company has previously completed significant projects such as installing the UAE’s first ultra-fast charger on Yas Island and forming an electric ride-hailing partnership with Masdar City.
The ION app is now available on both iOS and Android platforms. There are plans to expand its reach across the wider GCC region soon.
This development marks a pivotal moment in advancing sustainable transportation within the UAE. By integrating advanced technology with strategic partnerships, ION aims to facilitate a smoother transition to electric vehicles for both individuals and businesses alike.
