Investopia Global – Alberta Launches To Strengthen Economic Partnerships Between UAE And Canada

Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE's Minister of Economy and Tourism and Chairman of Investopia, led a delegation to Canada for the launch of Investopia Global – Alberta. This event marks the first Investopia Global Dialogues in Canada, aiming to enhance economic and investment cooperation. The focus is on sectors like clean energy, food security, artificial intelligence, space, and advanced aviation technologies.

Danielle Smith, Premier of Alberta, welcomed the UAE delegation. She highlighted that the launch signifies the strong ties between Canada and the UAE, especially in energy and advanced technologies. Alberta's flexible economy and skilled workforce make it an attractive destination for Emirati investors seeking tangible returns.

Investopia Global – Alberta Enhances UAE–Canada Ties

Bin Touq emphasised the robust UAE–Canada relations, which have grown through high-level visits and bilateral meetings. He stressed building on these achievements to create new partnerships. Both public and private sectors are crucial in driving sustainable growth and innovation.

The minister noted that hosting this event in Alberta aligns with Investopia’s vision to expand globally. It aims to connect international investors with rapidly growing markets. The rise in Canadian business activity in the UAE is evident with 14,719 Canadian trade licences by August 2025, marking a 19% increase from the previous year.

A roundtable meeting of the UAE–Canada Business Council took place alongside the event. Bin Touq participated with representatives from both countries' government and private sectors. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral investment partnerships and expanding cooperation in new economy sectors.

The meeting also explored ways to facilitate investment flows and develop joint projects supporting sustainable growth. It aimed at enabling entrepreneurs from both nations to expand internationally.

The minister affirmed that the UAE–Canada Business Council serves as a strategic platform to deepen economic ties between both countries. This council plays a vital role in fostering collaboration across various sectors, ensuring mutual benefits for both nations.
