Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih attended the Dushanbe International Investment Forum 2025 in Tajikistan. He was joined by a high-level Saudi delegation, which included representatives from both public and private sectors, as well as business and financial leaders. The forum was graced by the presence of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.

Al-Falih conveyed greetings from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the president, government, and people of Tajikistan. He highlighted that the forum's themes, such as green investments and digitalisation, align with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 transformation goals.

The minister emphasised the strong relationship between Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan, built on shared Islamic values and mutual respect. Since diplomatic ties were established in 1992, both nations have seen steady growth in their partnership through high-level visits and fruitful cooperation.

Al-Falih praised the progress achieved through close collaboration. Agreements signed cover investment protection, agriculture, business facilitation, and export development. These are now leading to promising private-sector investment opportunities for both countries.

The minister urged Saudi companies to explore key sectors in Tajikistan for sustainable investments that benefit both nations. Companies like ACWA Power are part of the delegation to explore opportunities in renewable energy and mining.

He noted that Tajikistan's production of antimony, accounting for 21% of global output, along with its reserves of other strategic minerals, makes it a crucial partner in securing future supply chains.

Development Support

The Kingdom is committed to supporting development in Tajikistan. The Saudi Fund for Development has been instrumental in this effort, implementing 14 projects worth over $300 million across roads, education, health, water, and energy sectors.

Al-Falih stated that transitioning to a green economy involves more than just renewable energy; it also requires access to essential minerals. This makes Tajikistan an important partner for sustainable supply chains.

Future Prospects

The minister concluded by highlighting the vast opportunities available in Tajikistan. The government offers numerous incentives and free economic zones to support investment. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia provides technologies and global partnerships to accelerate development.

There are broad prospects for joint growth in livestock production, agricultural technology development for food security enhancement, digital transformation, basic minerals for efficient supply chains, sustainable energy, and other promising fields.
