INTOSAI Development Initiative Board Renews Membership Of Dr. Hussam Alangari For Three Years
The INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) board, part of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), has renewed Dr. Hussam Alangari's membership for another three years starting January 2026. This decision highlights Saudi Arabia's significant role on the IDI board, marking the first Arab representation since its inception in 1986.
Dr. Alangari expressed gratitude for the leadership's support, emphasising that his continued membership underscores Saudi Arabia's active participation and esteemed position globally. He noted that this role complements other leadership positions held by the Kingdom in related international and regional organisations.

The Kingdom is set to preside over INTOSAI's Governing Board from 2031. It has led the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) since 2022 for two consecutive terms. Additionally, it will assume presidency of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) beginning in 2027.
Dr. Alangari also highlighted Saudi Arabia’s involvement in various administrative and technical committees within these organisations. This participation further demonstrates the Kingdom’s commitment to enhancing audit practices regionally and internationally.
"The renewal of my membership on the IDI board reflects the Kingdom’s active international and regional role and its distinguished global standing," said Dr. Alangari.
The Kingdom's engagement in these roles showcases its dedication to fostering transparency and accountability through effective audit practices worldwide. As Saudi Arabia continues to hold influential positions, it strengthens its reputation as a leader in global audit governance.
