The International Translation Forum 2024 began in Riyadh, organised by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission. This event attracted translation experts from across the globe. Over two days, participants will delve into the latest trends in translation, focusing on new practices and technologies while addressing challenges faced by translators both locally and internationally.
The forum's agenda includes a range of workshops and panel discussions on key issues in the translation field. The first day features notable workshops like "Digital Presence and Translators’ Professional Identity," which aims to enhance translators' communication skills. Another workshop, "Integrating GenAI into CAT Tools," explores how artificial intelligence can boost translation quality and efficiency.

Other topics on the first day include "The Path to Mastering Dubbing of Visual Content" and "Content Translation in the Digital World and Social Media." The second day offers specialized workshops such as "Future-Proof Translation Career: Evolving Skills, Roles, and Opportunities" and "Building Custom GPTs for Language Purposes."
A session titled "Training the Trainers: Integrating State-of-the-Art Pedagogical Approaches into Translation Education" is also scheduled for the second day. This session introduces innovative teaching methods to develop translators' skills effectively. A standout feature of the forum is the "Translation Tales" sessions held at each day's end.
