International Military Medicine Conference 2023 Focuses On Advancing Critical Care And Collaboration

The fourth International Military Medicine Conference commenced in Riyadh, led by Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Fahd Al-Ghufaili. Organised by the Ministry of Defence's General Directorate of Military Medical Services, the event focuses on "Critical Care: Collaboration, Compassion and Commitment – Advancing Military and Aerospace Medicine Innovation." This conference aims to foster advancements in military and aerospace medicine.

Major General Dr. Yasser Mandourah, Director General of the General Directorate of Military Medical Services, highlighted that the conference aligns with the Ministry of Defence's vision. It seeks to advance the military medical system and strengthen ties with national health sectors. The goal is to empower Saudi medical professionals in both military and humanitarian medicine.

Military Medicine Conference Highlights Innovations

The conference aims to boost military medical readiness and improve field medicine efficiency. It also focuses on enhancing medical evacuation processes and disaster management strategies. Developing military health policies and protocols that meet international standards is a key objective.

Major General Mandourah emphasised the importance of exchanging global expertise in military medicine. He noted that this exchange would facilitate advanced healthcare practices. The event features over 20 specialised sessions and workshops, drawing speakers from 32 countries worldwide.

The conference includes two additional scientific events: the first Aerospace and Diving Medicine Conference and the 14th Annual Conference of the Saudi Critical Care Society (SCCS). These conferences aim to provide comprehensive insights into specialised areas of medicine.

With a distinguished group of local and international speakers, these sessions offer a platform for knowledge sharing. They are designed to enhance understanding and collaboration in critical care, aerospace, and diving medicine fields.
