International Middle East Joint Replacement Congress To Gather Over 1,000 Experts In Dubai This April
Dubai is set to host the 12th International Middle East Joint Replacement Congress from 25th to 27th April at Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel. This event will gather over 1,000 surgeons and specialists in implants and joint replacements worldwide, organised by InfoPlus Events. The congress aims to advance medical education and clinical excellence in orthopaedics.
Dr. Mohamed Muath Adi, President of the congress, highlighted the focus on modern technological advancements. These include designing custom joints using three-dimensional printing and innovations in robotic surgeries. Complex surgical cases will be presented for expert discussions, alongside seminars and workshops to train doctors on the latest methods in joint replacement.

Dr. Samih Tarabichi, Chairman of the congress, emphasised its significance as it gathers prominent surgeons, speakers, trainers, nurses, and medical students globally. The event features a comprehensive scientific programme covering topics like knee replacement surgery, pelvic replacement surgery, shoulder replacement surgery, and more. It also includes discussions on infection in joint replacement and sports medicine.
The congress will feature 21 scientific sessions with 130 lectures and 39 research presentations. There are also 13 research lectures for doctors and resident doctors, along with eight workshops tailored for the industrial sector. Dr. Samih noted that this year's event marks a first-time collaboration with AO Recon, a global network of orthopaedic surgeons focused on advanced education in joint preservation.
Dr. Jaber Al Khayeli, Vice President of the congress, explained that bone anatomy varies among patients due to geographical and cultural backgrounds. In the Middle East, patients require designs that accommodate their lifestyle needs like sitting on the floor for prayers. This makes innovation in design crucial for improving treatment outcomes.
Engaging Sessions and Industry Participation
Specialised scientific sessions will showcase cutting-edge medical research alongside live-streamed surgeries by international experts. An "Ask the Experts" session will allow participants to engage directly with leading figures in orthopaedics. Over 20 leading companies from the pharmaceutical and medical device industry are participating, highlighting innovation's role in advancing orthopaedic technologies.
The International Middle East Joint Replacement Congress (ICJR) is an independent non-profit organisation dedicated to reinventing orthopaedic medical education through innovative learning tools aimed at improving patient health outcomes globally.
